●Welcome to My Eclectic Expressionism
Studio!●
Hi!
Welcome to Naomi's eclectic expressionism studio. Come on
in and sit a spell. I know, I know, you might have some
questions right off the bat. Questions like:
- Who the heck are you?
- Why are you calling your space a studio and not a gallery?
- What in the world is eclectic expressionism?
Let me see if I can answer them quickly for you so you can start
exploring the site. Oh, before I get into answering questions, I
would like to suggest that you might want to subscribe and
become a friend of the studio. I assure you, you won’t be
inundated with e-mails, I keep in touch about once a month. Use the form
on the right. You’ll receive advanced announcements of new
paintings (either my own or of other artists I admire) and most
important, special discounts on my prints, only given to
friends of the studio.
If you want to read the answers to the questions later and would
like to view the current series I am working on, then
you can go directly to the
Studio's House Gallery.
Okay, on to answering the questions…
Who the heck are you?
Who the heck am I? You can
read all about me under the
about Naomi link. I promise;
it
is not going to be the usual standard artist’s bio. I don’t
think I know how to do standard. A one sentence nuts and bolts,
if you don’t want to read that page, is I’ve given much of my
art away as gifts and I have had everyone tell me I need to get
off my butt and on the road to being a professional artist. I’m now
on that road!
Why studio and not gallery?
Why are you calling your space a studio and not a gallery? I
think of galleries more of the brick and mortar type. You go
to view artwork, you might go to some gallery openings and
have some wine and cheese, and if you are lucky, the artist will
be there and might say a couple of words to you.
Now, if you get to visit an artist’s studio, you have usually
entered by invite from the artist. The artist is happy to see
you, welcomes you in with a hug (as long as you like hugs, if
not, a pat on the back or a handshake), shows you around the
studio, talks about the art with you, may invite you to sit
awhile so she can have a conversation with you while she paints,
etc. A studio is so much less formal, a lot more fun, and you
have the full attention of the artist, because it is only you
and the artist (well maybe at the most one or two others if
friends were invited over). I like the studio because it is
where I am most comfortable, and if I want to be in my holey
jeans and t-shirt while painting, I can…you won’t mind, you’re
my friend. Besides, I have an in-house gallery within my studio
anyway, and it is still very informal. :-)
What is eclectic expressionism?
What in the world is eclectic expressionism? I have had a
hard time expressing what my style is because I get bored
easily. After exploring one subject matter or style for a
period, I’m ready to move on to the next. My style might change,
my materials could change, the subject matter…I’m an eclectic
person and by George!…I’m going to let my art be eclectic too!
There’s a lot you can explore on this site; obviously, my art,
which is under Studio House
Gallery. I use a wonderful POD (print on
demand) company called Imagekind for all of my fine art print
work. The quality of their papers, inks, and service are superb.
If you aren’t quite ready to get the original today; however,
you want to invest in a high quality print, you’ve come to the
right place! You can learn more about fine art prints and Giclées under the
Giclée Info link. I also cover
policies and
shipping for Imagekind (prints) and Naomi’s Studio
(original works of art).
Some other pages you may be interested in looking at are my
fans and testimonials
page. Other artist’s work that I am a fan of and/or they are a
fan of mine, collectors who are fans of mine and have written to
comment on my art, an “in progress” page (the piece that I am
currently working on, a weekly or bi-weekly update of how it is coming
along), and whatever else might come to mind.
Sit back, relax, and explore. Why not start with my
Emotions
Series under the Studio
House Gallery link. Right now, there are three
great paintings (well, I think they are great) because
I just started the series and I am now working on the fourth,
which will be called "Joy."
Thanks for visiting!
